Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
Overview
Convert ("the App") is developed by Svift Studios. We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing you with a great user experience. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device and syncs across your devices via iCloud if enabled:
- Conversion History - Your past conversions for quick reference
- Saved Conversions - Conversions you choose to pin or organize into lists
- Usage Statistics - Conversion counts, streaks, and achievements for gamification features
- App Preferences - Your settings such as decimal places, appearance, and enabled features
- Exchange Rate Cache - Currency rates are cached locally for performance
- Rate Alerts - Currency rate alerts you've configured
iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your conversion history, saved conversions, achievements, and preferences sync securely across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account. You can disable iCloud sync for Convert in your device's Settings app under iCloud.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
To improve the App and fix issues, we collect anonymized usage data through the following services:
PostHog Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how users interact with the App. This helps us improve features and identify issues. The data collected includes:
- App events (e.g., conversions performed, features used, screens viewed)
- Session information (app version, device type, operating system)
- Subscription status (whether you have Convert Pro)
- Feature flag assignments for A/B testing
What we don't collect: We do not collect the actual values you convert, your clipboard contents, personal identifiers, or location data. All analytics are anonymized using randomly generated session identifiers that cannot be linked to you personally.

Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports when the App encounters an error. This helps us identify and fix bugs quickly. Crash reports include:
- Stack traces and error information
- Device model and operating system version
- App version and build number
Crash reports do not contain your conversion data or personal information.

Third-Party Services
To provide core functionality, the App communicates with the following third-party services:
Natural Language Processing (Groq)
When you type a conversion query (e.g., "150 lbs to kg"), your query text may be sent to Groq's API for natural language processing. This helps the app understand complex or ambiguous queries. No personal identifiers are attached to these requests.
Groq's privacy policy: groq.com/privacy-policy
Currency Exchange Rates (Frankfurter)
The App fetches live currency exchange rates from the Frankfurter API. Only the base currency code is sent; no personal information is transmitted.
In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)
If you subscribe to Convert Pro, your purchase is processed through Apple and managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives transaction data necessary to verify your subscription status. No payment details are shared with us directly.
RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
What We Don't Collect
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Precise location data
- Contacts, photos, or other personal content
- The actual values you convert
- Your clipboard contents
Data Retention
Local data: Remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app data. iCloud-synced data persists in your iCloud account until you delete it.
Analytics data: Anonymized usage data is retained by PostHog for up to 12 months. Crash reports are retained by Firebase for 90 days.
Third-party services: Groq, Frankfurter, and RevenueCat have their own data retention policies as described in their respective privacy policies linked above.
Your Choices
- Delete your data: Uninstall the app to remove all local data. To delete iCloud data, go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Convert.
- Disable iCloud sync: Go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud and toggle off Convert.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Our analytics are anonymized and do not identify individual users of any age.
